OUR LEADERSHIP TEAM

Steven B. Sadler

Owner, CEO

In 1990 Steve and a Corporate partner started a commercial cleaning business with little more than one account and a strong entrepreneurial spirit. Operating from his basement office, Steve dedicated himself personally and professionally to the success of the company, which grew to one of the most respected commercial cleaning companies in New England. In 2009 Steve acquired the majority shares from his partner and became the sole owner of Performance Environmental Services, LLC. He continues to mentor its success serving as visionary and chief executive officer.

Robert Consla, RBSM

President

Robert Consla is a hospitality and operations executive who has over 20 years’ experience leading and developing successful teams. Robert joined PES in 2019 as President with the mission of leading the company through the next phase of growth. Robert has a BA from the University of Miami and currently lives in Trumbull with his wife and 2 daughters.

Laura Smulski

CFO

Laura is a CT native and has worked in the building services industry for 15 years. She holds a BA from Boston University and an MBA from the University of New Haven. Her route to treasury management started in San Francisco during the dot.com boom. After various international adventures, she made her way back East where she now lives with her husband and two children. Laura is passionate about developing business operating systems and solving problems through teamwork and innovation.

Manny Gomez

VP, Operations

Manny came to the United States in 1977 from Lima, Peru and applied his background in electrical engineering and business management to quickly work his way up the ladder with companies like the Marriot Hotel and Ogden Allied Maintenance Corp. Manny started working with Steve Sadler in 1992, and brought to the company a passion and dedication for the service industry that is only rivaled by his devotion to his two children and wife of over 35 years.

David Berthold

VP, Corporate Administration

An employee of the company since 1996, David has occupied a wide range of departments including field work, special services, sales, management, labor relations, IT, safety and corporate administration. David has a BA in Psychology, has achieved numerous trade certifications with the IICRC and the USGBC and is an authorized OSHA outreach trainer. In his free time David enjoys boating, skiing, playing guitar and being a dad.

Bill Thomas

VP, Operations

Bill graduated from Central Connecticut State University and has over 20 years’ experience working in the cleaning industry with a demonstrated history of delivering unmatched customer service. He excels in delivering reliable janitorial and maintenance solutions to a diverse range of clients with a mastery of problem solving, management, risk assessment and access control.

Lisa Chapman

Senior Sales Executive

Lisa returned to her birth state of CT in 2015 in order to join the Performance team and be closer to her family. From there Lisa helped launch the company into a new stage of growth by applying her years of experience in managing business to business sales and marketing for various industries in OH, MN, TX, VA. Lisa serves on several committees for trade organizations such as CREW CT and the CTAA.

Kayla Sanders

HR & Payroll Manager

Kayla is a New Haven native with over 6 years’ experience in Human Resources and Payroll processing across multiple industries. She holds a BS from UCONN, an MBA from Albertus Magnus College, and she is a SHRM Certified Professional. Driven by seeing others grow, Kayla takes pride in providing the best service possible to the employees she supports. Kayla’s goals include employee retention and engagement, training and development, and enhancing the company’s culture.

Lee Santos

Managing Partner Performance Northeast

Lee Santos began his career in the service industry part time in 1984 and quickly found success by rising to the ranks of district manager and helping to build over 30 million in revenue for one of the largest service companies in New England. Lee found similar success working for two other major service companies in New England before joining the Performance team in 2020.
